To Infinity and Beyond

In the second part of Virilio’s open sky he delves even deeper into the technological realm. He discuses the idea of nano technology and the possibility of a day when the human body and technology join, working in sequence.

These concepts made me think of some latest technology that is giving us the first glimpse as far as what’s to come with human and technology interconnectivity. 3D bio-printing is a new technology that has begun to use a combination of human cells and bio materials to produce organs.

At Cornell University they have  been able to print a kidney and an ear. They have the know how and means to fuse these prints with human bodies, thus mixing the terrestrial with the technological.

The introduction of devices like Google Glass and Under Armour, Armour39 are another example of bridging the gap between human beings and technology. Google glass offers a live heads up display that can give the user updates on just about anything that you can google.

Armour39 is a new technology from Under Armour that offers the user live updates on heart rate, pace and all the same thing every other body monitor does except it also boasts the ability to judge will power. I think that this shows connectivity between human’s emotions and technology.
